This was an undergraduate research project at Colorado Space Grant Consortium and aimed to create an attachment to allow a drone to drill and collect an ice core sample. The project was ultimately successful and delivered in September 2023.
This project was part of the Component Design class at CU Boulder in which students would fully design and build a bike that could be powered by a cordless drill. Our team's bike was wildly successful and went on to be the fastest bike out of the 29 groups (1st place in drag race).
This was a freshman engineering project in which our team attempted to design a low-cost device that could turn any manual wheelchair into an electric-powered one. In the end, the project actually worked the way it was inteded, but was limited to flat surfaces and low loads (as a result of wheel slip).
